Why We Created GT Wraps Austin Blog
I still remember the first car I ever wrapped. My hands were shaking, the vinyl kept bubbling, and I must have reheated that section ten times before getting it right. That frustrating, challenging, incredibly satisfying day taught me something important: perfection in this craft doesn't come easy, but when it does, it's magic.

The biggest reason for creating this blog is to stay connected with our clients and keep them updated on what's happening at GT Wraps. Every week, we work on unique projects, solve complex installations, test different materials, and continue improving our craft. Instead of keeping all of that behind closed doors, we want to share it with you.
Through this blog, we'll give you a closer look at what happens inside GT Wraps — from interesting projects and challenging installations to insights about the automotive protection and customization industry.
How GT Wraps Started
My journey in the automotive world started when I was just 17 years old, working in car detailing in Brazil. I loved making cars shine, but I didn't know yet what would become my true passion.
Everything changed the day I watched a professional install window tint. I was mesmerized. The way he handled the film, the precision, the technique — something clicked. I couldn't take my eyes off the process. That's when my passion for automotive films was born. I knew right then that this was what I wanted to master.
But life doesn't always move in a straight line. It was years later that I finally took the leap. GT Wraps didn't start in a fancy shop with all the best equipment. It started in my garage with a heat gun, a YouTube tutorial, and a friend who trusted me enough to let me practice on his car. What began as that spark I felt years earlier watching window tint installation turned into a full obsession. I couldn't stop thinking about techniques, materials, and how to get that perfect edge every single time.
Those early days were humbling. I made every mistake you can imagine — wrinkles, bubbles, edges that wouldn't stick. But each mistake taught me something, and each successful installation fueled my passion even more.

From that 17-year-old in a detailing shop in Brazil to GT Wraps here in Austin, the journey has been incredible. Today, GT Wraps is more than just a business — it's a place where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion for cars come together. And this blog is our way of sharing that journey with you.

More Than Just a Shop
For us, GT Wraps is more than just a place where cars get wrapped or protected. It's a place where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion for cars come together.
Last month, a customer brought in a vintage Mustang that had been in his family for 30 years. He wanted to protect it but was nervous about changing anything. We spent hours discussing options, showing him samples, and explaining every step of the process. When he picked up his car — fully protected but looking exactly as he remembered it — the look on his face reminded me why we do this work. It's not just about the wrap; it's about trust, care, and preserving what matters to people.
Starting this blog allows us to bring our clients closer to the process and share the journey behind the work we do every day.
We're excited to show you the projects we're working on, the challenges we face, and the results we're proud of.
